If you want a superior education that focuses on Gospel values and the development of the “whole child”, then look no further. Monte Cecilia Catholic School is a decile 6 school located in Hillsborough, Auckland. We are a Catholic integrated primary school and are the parish school of St John Vianney. The school has a maximum roll of 227 pupils and caters for years 1 to 6 inclusive, in 3 Learning Hubs. The school’s enrollment policy gives preference to Catholic students, we have a limited number for non-preference students.
The year 6 children are encouraged to take a leadership role in the school. A ‘whanau group’ system of four houses are led by whanau house captains and vice captains. All children are encouraged to act in accordance with Catholic values in a caring and considerate manner with their peers, families and the community. The school is proud that this sense of caring community has been affirmed by the recent Catholic Character Review undertaken by the Catholic Schools’ Office. The report’s summary states:
‘Community is the heart of Catholic education. At Monte Cecilia, this is lived out as the Principal, staff and Board of Trustees work with the school and parish community to provide a complete Catholic education in a safe nurturing environment.’
