A very warm welcome back to everyone after the long holiday!
It was certainly a wonderful first day with the warm weather welcome back to school – perfect for our children who may not be so used to four walls and timed routines anymore.
A few things to note in the next two weeks:
Parents; you have homework! Your children don’t… except of course for daily reading which you kept up in the holidays as well! Your tamariki will pass your homework, My child in a million words or less on to you. Please could you return this by Friday 10th February.
There will also be a few pages for you to sign in Book Bags, Faith Journals and Home Learning Books. These include: uniform expectation sheets, permission forms, updated information forms and learning in Special character expectation forms. Your children earn house pointsfor signatures and returned sheets. The longer you take the less points they earn – so; it’s time to get competitive!!
You still have time to to help your children earn house points through entering the Summer Reading Photo Competition. Reading is VERY important at Monte and we encourage everyone to send their entries in to promote reading everyday – wherever you are! Click here for an entry form.
We will have a Welcome Mass to begin our 2017 school year on Thursday 2 February at 9am. All new students, staff and whanau will be welcomed, so please try to attend if you are able to.
Our Y6 students are currently applying for student leadership positions and will be celebrated in a special assembly on Friday 10th February at 2pm.
God bless !
