Good Morning Monte Families,
I hope that you are all looking after yourselves in your respective bubbles and feeling safe in this new Level 3 time.
We have completed a week of Level 3 Bubble Learning here onsite at Monte. We have approximately 7 students attending and one teacher looking after them at one time.
With so much media attention on the possibility of a move to Level 2, I wanted to assure you that Monte Cecilia Catholic School is following all the Ministry of Health and Education guidelines given to us. When a move to Level 2 is nationally directed, I will share with you a clear break-down of what that will actually look like for your children.
The school has been through a 5 day, comprehensive, cleaning and sanitisation process with our cleaning company Crest Clean. Their team has actually been awarded a Certificate of Excellence following the work they completed here at Monte, so you can feel very confident in the hygiene and safety standards that we are adhering too. A daily disinfecting and cleaning plan is in place, completed during the day by our property manager, and also every evening by the Crest Clean team. This will continue during Level 2.
We have had a wonderful team of gardeners from the Kiwi Girls Garden Company who have tackled the overgrown garden at the front of the school and we are back to looking immaculate!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the Community Survey that I emailed to you last week. Your feedback is really valued, and helps us plan ways to support you and your families in the next phase of transition.
Keep up the great work with your Online Distance Learning. The children are doing a fabulous job! I would like to remind you all – only do what works for you and your family. We do not want to cause any undue stress for anyone. There is no pressure from us to complete a set number of tasks or activities each day. Our fabulous teachers are wanting to provide interesting learning experiences for the children, but we are very aware that every household is managing multiple work, home and well being demands themselves. Do what you can, and don’t stress about anything else!
Much aroha and manaakitanga to you all,
