Talofa lava Monte Community,

As of Monday 18th May we will be at Alert Level 2 and we are looking forward to welcoming our students and staff back to school.

The Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education have put significant requirements on schools in regards to Health and safety on our return and we have clear processes in place for Monte. These have all been shared with our Board of Trustees. Please read the attached notice for further information.

Level 2 Welcome back for Monte Families

I realise that some people will be very excited to return to school, and others may be feeling a little anxious about the changes and possible risks. Families must feel comfortable with the decisions they make for their own children. Please contact me directly if you have any concerns or queries.

Please also let me know if you are choosing to keep your child at home during the Level 2 period, as we are required by the Ministry of Education to account for all our enrolled students, and to code them accordingly on an attendance register. We will support the decisions that you make.

A few notes:

Uniform – we are now in winter uniform, but I am aware that no-one has had access to shops for purchasing items that may be needed, so we will be flexible on winter footwear for example, until families are able to organise these items. Elizabeth Michael’s is now operating an online shop if you wish to purchase new uniform items. Contact Mrs Follows in the office for details.

Pick up and Drop offs – all students will use the front gate entrance next to the library. Adults are asked to not come onsite unless absolutely necessary, and there will be a sign in register at the office for you. This is to ensure we can trace anyone onsite, should it be necessary in the future. No children may be onsite before 8:30am. SKIDS services are available before and after school, as of Monday 18th May.

We encourage Junior Hub parents to collect their children between 2:30pm-3:00pm, and Middle and Senior Hub parents to collect their children between 3:00pm-3:30pm to avoid unnecessary congestion in the carpark. Sibling can be collected together, of course.

We look forward to seeing you all in person very soon.

With God’s guidance,

Sarah McAlpine
