Happy New Year Monte whānau!

Isn’t it great to still be on holiday enjoying the wonderful summer weather and family time? I know many of you parents will be back at work crying out for Wednesday 30th January when you can drop your gorgeous children back at school, hang in there… it’s only a week and a half to go!

Teachers all around New Zealand (including our teachers at Monte) have been trickling back into their various schools and opening up their laptops as we all gear up for a fantastic 2019 school year! We are happy to welcome a new teacher onto our staff this year; Mrs Malica Gore who will be teaching in the Senior hub alongside Miss Dunn.

Our welcome to school Mass will be on Friday 1st February at 10am. All new families starting in and through term 1 are invited to attend this Mass and be blessed into our school family. Of course all our families are always invited to attend our school Masses as always.

It is summer uniform this term, so please ensure your child starts school on the first day wearing their SCHOOL hat and BLACK school style sandals. The rest of the uniform remains the same for all terms.

Summer reading photos have started appearing in my inbox which is WONDERFUL! You still have a while to make the most of snapping a picture of your children reading somewhere in the sunshine showing their teachers that they did some daily reading while they were away from us for such a long time! Parents, you can send in an entry too, there is no age limit on reading! A little bit of news… Vianney is already in the lead with photo entries. Come on whānau – give it a go! The entry forms were emailed out last year and are also still on the parent portal or you can email your photo with a caption, year level and whānau group to [email protected]

God bless, Mrs Mill
