Tena kotou katoa,
Happy new year to you all and we look forward to catching up with everyone next week!

Here are a few bullet points to prepare you for coming back to school. Most of this notice has already been sent via the Parent Portal. For those who have not yet set up alerts for the parent portal, I would highly recommend that you do so. By doing this you will keep up to date with happenings around school as well as having individual access to your child’s personal information.

  • School starts for most of our Monte Cecilia tamariki on TUESDAY 30th JANUARY, with some New Entrants/Students starting on Wednesday.
  • It is summer school uniform which means all children need to be wearing BLACK ROMAN SANDALLS and a SCHOOL HAT every day. Caregivers will be required to sign a uniform agreement, along with other permission forms etc in the first week back at school.
  • Remember to take a photo of your children READING for our SUMMER READING PHOTO Competition – you can email entries with a caption, their year level/category and their Whanau Group name to principal@montececilia.school.nz for printing or you can drop one already completed in at the office. Remember “Monte Adults” can enter as well to earn Whanau points for their child’s team! The entry form with details was sent out at the end of last year and is attached here: 2018 entry Sizzling Summer Reading Photo competition
  • Home Learning Books will come home for the first week with a number of paper notices that you will need to read and sign with your children, ALL the notices that are signed in time will earn Whanau points! These notices will also be on the portal in time.
  • Please encourage independence in your child from the first day of school – it is important that they are responsible for their Book Bags and bring them to school EVERY day. These will be issued on their first day of school this year.

Enjoy the last little bit of the summer holiday and we will see you soon!
God bless,
Michele Mill and all of our awesome staff !
